A 47 year old man Osman Fumbo Thulinga was found dead in Nkhatabay with his genitals cut off and head chopped on Wednesday, Malawi Police have said.
Nkhatabay police spokesperson Ignatius Esau told Nyasa Times that Nthulinga’s body was found in the maize garden that is almost 15 meters away from his house.
“The deceased was living alone and the police are yet to to know the suspect as well as the reasons behind [the gruesome murder],” said Esau.
“His body was discovered by passersby in a maize field, about 15 meters from his house at Msakanene in the the area of Traditional Authority ( TA ) Timbili in Nkhatabay district.
Police in the district are therefore calling upon any one who might have information that might lead to the arrest of the unknown criminals to come forward with such information so that just may take its course.
An autopsy conducted on the murder victim showed that the death was due to the chopping of the deceased’s head.
Fumbo came from of Nthulinga Village, Traditional Authority ( TA ) Timbili in Nkhatabay district.
