MCP MP demands removal of ‘dead wood’
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Kasungu West legislature Alex Major has called on the party to remove the ‘dead wood’ if it needs to be vibrant and win elections.
In an exclusive interview with Nyasa Times, Major who was chairman for the party’s by-elections campaign said as it is, MCP cannot win any elections because it has a lot of political fading stars.
“If the by-elections are anything to go by, MCP is not ready to win any elections in the country because we have a lot of people who are not ready to serve the party.
“As of now , we are financially handicapped, we don’t have the required human resource and most of the leadership at district and regional level is not active,” he said.
He observed that MCP has some leaders who are there to reap from the party and not to contribute to its success.
“There are a lot of leaders who have nothing to do but to reap from the party other than contributing to its success. We need the rebuilding and restructuring process as soon as possible.
“We have a lot of support from all the corners of the country but because of some passive leadership, we are not ready to compete fully during the elections,” said Major.
MCP has never had elections at district and regional level for almost 10 years now.

TRUEEE!
While I agree with Mr Major, he would find a proper platform for these sentiments not washing the dirty MCP linen in the public. He has shown his political noviceness.
There is nothing wrong in what Mr Major has said. These are just facts and the honest truth. It is time MCP knows the truth by whatever means.Za Nyau nyau zithe you are killing the psrty.

I totally agree with Major, there is no point in retaining people in positions they cannot perform. This is a computer age, therefore one cannot work with a person who lives 30 years back today.
