Mponda secures sponsorship, to be called FSI Wizards FC
What used to be Surestream F.C have secured a new one tear sponsorship deal courtesy of Foundation for Sustainable Irrigation (FSI) and the team will now be called FSI Wizards.
Both Surestream F.C owner Peter Mponda and Frank Mwenechanya a representative of FSI confirmed the development through a local newspaper “The Nation”.
The local press reported on Tuesday that FSI will pump in between K40 and K60 Million following a fruitful meeting held last Friday.
The sponsorship romance might last long only if the club which currently seat at the bottom of the elite TNM Super League survives relegation this is according to Mponda.
“They made it clear that they will only commit long term relationship if we avoid relegation from the super league because anything short of that will not be in line with their plans and we are looking at that challenge and motivation,” Mponda is quoted as saying.
However, Mponda has been asked to work team management and assemble committee that as of now according to reports will include former Bullets official Ophman Kondowe and George Kapachika as Vice Chairman and Vice General Secretary respectively.
Meanwhile, Mponda has confirmed that former Bullets players Macdonald Yobe and Fundi Akidu will work with him at par as coaches while he will also hold the post of Technical Director.

@ NeNebaaa, I like your observation. We often say Malawi companies don’t like to sponsor our beloved teams. Mponda has just proved us wrong. It seems other teams including the Frames don’t know how to secure sponsorship. They sit and wait for companies to come forward. Mponda you have done it days only. I am proud of you. Now it’s up to your leadership style. You break it or you build it and become like the Kaizer Motaung and become our living legend. To other teams I say ask him how he did it. Bravo Mponda.
Is this club will play their games during daylight? Afisi amayenda usiku likewise wizards. How come the team play during the day? AFISI OMWEWO WOYEEEEE!!!!!!
Mponda should involve others in the running of the team kuti zinthu ziyende bwino.
