Malawian President Peter Mutharika is on Monday expected to participate in anti-abductions and killings of people with albinism which will take place in Kasungu but the vice seems to be on the increase.
On Saturday police in Machinga arrested two men after they were found with bones of people with albinism.
Machinga Police publicist Davie Sulumba confirmed the arrest of the two men who were found with six bones which they admitted were for a person with albinism.
“We are looking for a business lady from Liwonde whom we are told asked for the bones. She is at large but we will find her because she might be the market for the bones,” Sulumba said.
All the two men hail from Chief Kawinga’s area in the district.
In Phalombe, police prosecutors have withdrawn a case against an uncle who is alleged to have threatened that he would sell off his nephew of albinism condition.
Police said the nephew, John Asima pleaded with the police to withdraw the case saying his uncle, Christopher Daluni was the bread winners for the family.
The police said the charges have since been withdrawn from the suspect uncle.
