Mutharika to participate in anti-albino killings march

Malawian President Peter Mutharika is on Monday expected to participate in anti-abductions and killings of people with albinism which will take place in Kasungu but the vice seems to be on the increase.

Mutharika: To march

Mutharika: To march

On Saturday police in Machinga arrested two men after they were found with bones of people with albinism.

Machinga Police publicist Davie Sulumba confirmed the arrest of the two men who were found with six bones which they admitted were for a person with albinism.

“We are looking for a business lady from Liwonde whom we are told asked for the bones. She is at large but we will find her because she might be the market for the bones,” Sulumba said.

All the two men hail from Chief Kawinga’s area in the district.

In Phalombe, police prosecutors have withdrawn a case against an uncle who is alleged to have threatened that he would sell off his nephew of albinism condition.

Police said the nephew, John Asima pleaded with the police to withdraw the case saying his uncle, Christopher Daluni was the bread winners for the family.

The police said the charges have since been withdrawn from the suspect uncle.

Muthalika does not need to match but act. If he is clueless on what he can do, let me tip him: Tell the Minister of home affairs, the police IG, the Police Commisioners from each region, the Officer Incharges from all Districts, the Station Officers from each polite station, the heads of police units, TAs, GVHs and Village heads this clear message: “ONE MORE KILLING OF AN ALBINO IN YOUR AREA OF JURISDICTION, YOU ARE FIRED BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT UPHELD THE RIGHT TO LIFE OF A HUMAN BEING. BESIDES YOU WILL ANSWER ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGES OF NEGLIGENCY.” THIS MESSAGE WILL DO MORE THAN WHAT A MILLION MATCHES FROM THE PRESIDENT COULD DO. Remember how the shoot to kill message from Ngwazi proffessor Bingu wa Mutharika works to reduce incidences of armed robbery.
