After a two-month of speculations linking him with a move to various teams, Mighty Be forward Wanderers supporters can now breath a sigh of relief as utility player Stanley Sanudi has agreed to extend his contract with the club.

Wanderers General Secretary Mike Butao has comfirmed to Nyasa Times the club was aware of all the speculations regarding both Sanudi and his long time friend Isaac Kaliati but remained patient.

“We knew that Sanudi and Kaliati cannot quit Wanderers for any other local team. We treat them as our children and as parents we didn’t want to react on baseless speculations. He (Sanudi) has agreed to extend his contract after  lengthy discussions,” said Butao.

However, the Wanderers General Secretary was also optimistic to finalise Kaliati’s contract discussions soon.

He said the difference with Kaliati is that they are discussing with his Father who is a busy person.

Butao also said that the club has already finalised contract extension discussions with almost all the players  whose contracts are towards completion.

“We have already discussed with almost all the players whose contracts are running out. We are just remaining with a few and hope this exercise will be done soon. We are happy with what we have and hope to keep what is best for the club,” Butao said.

Wanderers is expected to regroup on Tuesday 21 February to start preparing for the fourth coming season set to kick off early April.
