Teveta board gives suspended managers 7 days to defend themselves in K2.4bn scam

Teveta board has given suspended managers, including executive director Ndione Chauluka seven days to defend themselves in a K2.4 billion abuse of public money allegations.

Chauluka: To defend himself

The board chairman Gilbert Chilinde said they will call for a disciplinary hearing after receiving the letters from the suspended managers.

“Once they respond in writing, we will call them for a disciplinary hearing,” said Chilinde.

Chauluka and director of Training Modesto Gomani are answering charges of abusing K2.4 billion after they allegedly opened Tsogolo Langa Project, a youth skills project in Neno without the approval of the board.

The board has since snatched their official vehicles.

Director of Finance Edwin Sichiola was cleared of any wrong doing in the scam and was recalled to work.
