Malawi’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), in a response to President Peter Mutharika’s call to help flood victims, has organised a Valentine dinner and dance party.

According to the party, the dinner and dance will take place on Saturday, February 14 at the Bingu International Conference Centre where President Mutharika will be the guest of honour.

Activities on the day will include music performances from Mibawa Band, Saul Chembezi, DPP Sendera Sisters, Edgar and Davis and Kambuku Band, among others.

Dress code: Black tie for men and evening/national dress for ladies (red or blue).

Mutharika declared Malawi a State of Disaster and appealed to individuals, organisations and the international community to assist.

Each table will be K15m and we need 60 tables.
We need companies, rich individuals, former Presidents and their vices, NGO, parastatals and all stinking rich Malawians to book your tables to support this good cause.

I dont see any good reason why big men busy dancing while your people are in floods aaaa koma inu!!! Just contribute the little you have to the victims

recycling cash gate, nacgate and disaster relief money from donors…mwaponda kale now u want to donate some when it’s basically their money.

  6. Mwanache says:

you laughed and ridiculed JB for distributing K3million worth of maize and in the process swindle K20million govt money thru allowances and other related costs.

In a similar scenario, DPP led Govt will spend K10million+ to raise a meagre K4million.
    Shame on you!

I hope they will raise a lot of money otherwise there is proof that without proper ways of raisng funds ndizija kukumapelekedwa 30 bags

Good idea. I am only thinking does DPP need to go dancing and wining before they can help. Imagine the wine food fuel for official vehicles allowance for drivers and security for ministers. The president’s presence is another huge expense. So you people will spend so much government money to raise peanut knowing how stingy you are. As you drink that wine that day just imagine a little malnourished baby in the lower shire crying continuously for food with mosquitoes ducking the little blood left in it while you are using her situation to wine and dance. Couldn’t you just ask all your members and all those in position by virtue of being DPP members to contribute towards the good cause. Do you really need to spend government money in order to show that you care. Most Malawians have contribute to this cause so you will be doing nothing special other than doing same thing others have done wrongly in your case

  14. ujeni says:

The only thing DPP has done in 8 years is hosting parties at the two palaces or some nondescript joints
