Mighty Be Forward Wanderers FC has been invited to India to take part in the Chief Minister’s Cup international football tournament from June 24 to July 3.
Wanderer’s general secretary Mike Butao confirmed about the trip and said they have already informed Super League of Malawi on the trip.
Butao said the champion of the cup will recieve K17 million, which is about (US$25,000).
He also said the invitation is for a squad of 18 and that everything is fully paid for.
Butao said the trip will give a chance to Wanderers player’s interms of exposure and that some will stand a chance of clinching deals since there will be many scouts to watch the competition.
Sulom general secretary Williams Banda said Wanderers might be allowed to take part in the tournament if the dates of the cup do not collide with Malawi football calendar.
According to an invitation letter dated April 22 2016 from the Organizing Committee Chairperson, H Chandrashekar reads: “The aim and purpose of conducting this football tournament is to provide a platform to young enthusiastic footballers and to encourage the spirit of competition to enable sporting teams around the world to come together and learn from each other.”Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
