10 perish, dozens injured in horror crash

About 10 passengers are feared dead and dozen others severely injured after the bus they were traveling in an road accident at Manjawira along the M1 Road in Ntcheu.

The bus belonging to Future Tours was going to Blantyre from Lilongwe.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that 10peopke  have died, several with their heads cut.

The victims were rushed to Balaka District Hospital.

The accident happened when the speeding bus’ front tyres burst before overturning several times killing and injuring some of the passengers.

Malawians are always in death traps of verious kind because poverty and corruption along side neglegence.Look at how we are packed in 15 seater minibuses which have completely changed to suit their hunger for money.Passagers have no choice but to allow being squeized packed like bags. Without that,one can not travel. We evchange our need to travel with such kind of death traps.Let us agree that travelling in public transport is travelling in death traps only that the God”s Grace made us to reach our destinations.

the drivers are they really qualified? the way they driver makes one to question their qualifications….. such big busses need drivers with responsibility not those who have just graduated from driving minbuses

I only hope our law enforcement agencies will change the way they do their jobs. These buses overloads like they have taken nkhumba, yet they go through Police and Road Traffic Directorate road blocks. Road worthiness of these buses is not checked. Please Road Traffic law enforcement agencies start a special passenger buses/minibuses section to check the road worthiness of these buses. Enforce on capacity. Revise carrying capacity and those standing in the bus, because these buses are not new but very much used ones. Stop useless and stinking corruption on our roads.
