4 Malawi nationals arrested in UK over fake immigration IDs, appear at Manchester magistrate court

Four Malawi nationals in England have been arrested  and charged in relation to an Immigration Enforcement investigation into the manufacture and supply of fraudulent ID documents.

Malawians arrested include  Madalitso Majawa, age 33, of Ombersley Close in Redditch who was charged following raids by officers from Immigration Enforcement’s Criminal and Financial Investigation (CFI) team on Wednesday (June 28).

According to published reports on Redditch Standard, the officers executed four warrants simultaneously and five people were charged with conspiracy to supply fraudulent identity documents.

The five people including four Malawians charged are:

– Steven Kanaventi, 39, of Mulliner Street, Coventry, CV6 5ET

– Paul Kanaventi, 37, of Forster Street, Nottingham, NG7 3DH

– Febbie Kaitano, 32, of Forster Street, Nottingham, NG7 3DH

– Victor Ariyo, 53, of Rye Hill Park, London, SE15 3JU

– Madalitso Majawa, 33, of Ombersley Close, Redditch, B98 7UU

They appeared before Manchester City Magistrates Court today (Friday, June 30).

Majawa, Steven Kanaventi, Paul Kanaventi and Ariyo have been remanded in custody while Kaitano has been bailed.

They will all appear before Manchester Crown Court on July 28 .

Wednesday’s operation followed three other arrests made on June 20 as part of the same investigation.

Assistant Director Dave Magrath, from the North West CFI team which is leading the investigation, said: “As these operations show, we will rigorously investigate allegations relating to the abuse of the UK’s immigration laws.”

    1. I support you bro. Some nationals do a lot more serious crimes than what these have done . Pali chani apa. Put yourself in the shoes of those who got the i.ds from these guys and hear their side of the story. People go through a lot to finally be free and legal . Ndi kunja tu kuno.
