Mtumodzi calls for Goodall’s resignation: Ntata says Malawi is better with Prophet Bushiri as Finance Minister

Dziko FM radio owner and businessman Chikumbutso Mtumodzi has asked for Finance Minister Goodall Gondwe’s resignation citing current government’s failure to address financial and hunger crisis that the country is facing.

Chikumbutso Mtumodzi addressing the media on Monday, saying Malawians are suffering

Addressing the media on Monday at Bridge View hotel where he held a news briefing with Z Allan Ntata on Reform to Transform, Mtumodzi said old age has caught up with Gondwe who holds a position that requires active and fresh minds that are flexible with latest trends in economy.

“Our dignity as men has been taken away because we cannot provide for our families due to the current economic crisis. Gondwe must resign,” said Mtumodzi, former  presidential press secretary of late president Bingu wa Mutharika.

“ We cannot mention who should replace him, we trust President  Peter Mutharika because he has enough resources required to appoint a capable and energetic individual for the post,” Mtumodzi stated.

Mtumodzi further pointed out that he had come out in the open because most Malawians are ignorant on what is really going on hence failure to question government to address crucial issues affecting the country.

“I have been quite on the political scene but am back with a Muammer Gaddafi style,” said Mtumodzi.

“ Am here to fight for my people who are queuing to buy Madeya at Kauma, am here to fight for vendors who are being chased in the streets. If it’s dying, we are going to die together,” Mtumodzi  declared in a no-holds-bared tonne.

“The country is a crisis right now. Reform to Transform is here to fight for a better Malawi that we were promised as kids. We have noticed that demonstrations do not work in this country.

“Civil society organizations and other individuals have tried demonstrating, presenting petitions to relevant authorities but what happens next? Petitions gather dust and authorities do not act. We are using a different approach, an approach that will involve engaging people on the ground,” he added.

In his remarks, Reform to Transform Organization co-founder Z Allan Ntata said Malawians need a Finance Minister that gives people hope and confidence and not somebody who says, “Our economy is in God’s hands”.

“If a Minister is saying Malawi’s economy is in God’s hands then I would recommend a prophet should be given the ministerial position because they are the ones who talk to God.

“ I ask the President to appoint Prophet Bushiri for example, because he will be able to communicate with God on the state of our economy,” he joked.

Ntata further emphasized that he has a good job therefore he is not looking for a top position in the current administration.

“I have a very good job, am only doing this for my family and friends who are here in Malawi. Our Reform to transform organization is here to force the current administration to become a listening and responsive government,” he explained.

Many concerned citizens said a younger finance minister would fix the economy.

Last week, text messages read out on Capital Radio blamed him for the country’s economic problems.

“He has outlived his professional life,” read one text message. It recalled his professional history which began with a post at the Reserve Bank in 1966.

“That man has seen many moons and he is not the same sharp young World Bank economist that he once was. The pressure may just be too much for him,” Nyasa Times editorial director, Thom Chiumia wrote in a’Loose Cannon’ column titled “Age of unreason reigns when everything is ‘falling’ in Malawi”.

Some, however, said the current economic hardships, such as the depreciation of the local kwacha, which currently stands at K725 against the US dollar, were not his fault, but a global problem.

Gondwe said he believed the weakening kwacha would stabilise in a week or two.

  1. A kambuku, you have talked sense but very difficult to implement because of the 5 yeras term of office…..amaopa osadyapo kalikonse during their office term.

If a prsident could stay in office more than 5 years without conducting ZISANKHO,,,,,,Yes….this could be possible. A
    MEN.

  2. Kusauka ndi uchimo now I believe this saying. Mtuumodzi maluzi amugwira kankhope katuwiratu, he looks very old than his age on the photos.

  3. Fellow Malawians, I warned you not to listen to frustrated Allan Ntata and now joined Chikumbutsomtuumodzi. This are failed Malawians. If you can give them a small chamba club, they can manage to run but to run a country it will collapse in a week. All people will die. I beg you in the name Mbona to forgive them since we are in Easter week. You remember that Judas Iscariot did a disservice to the world in the same week. Ignore them completely

  4. a Ntata mumamvetsa chifundo zedi. Kubadwila mu garage does not kukhala makaniki. Zomwe mwanena a Ntata pankhani yolankhula ndi Mulunguyo zandidabwitsa kwabasi kuti kodi munthu wobadwila mu galaja uyu akukanika even kungoiliza galimoto. Ndizoonadi kubadwila mu garage sikukhala makaniko. I think abusa a Ntata wo anangogiva za Allan kusokera komwe adasokeraku. Bwanji osangobwerera kwa Atate kuti akakuveke mwinjiro, mphete mchala chako, nsapato ku mapazi ako nakulandila ku mphwando la munyumba mwao. Ntata, chamba chidakusokoneza mutu. Ndiwe mwana wolowerela ndithu.

  5. Mtumodzi, Ntata and others who are calling finance minister to resign are failed Malawians in politics, economics and social issues affecting Malawi today. Malawi’s challenges of economy are global phenomenon which can not be solved by Gondwe alone. Look at the economy of South Africa how Rand has completely lost its value against major currencies.

If Gondwe resigns, let the North Malawi use him as their finance minister. You like tribalism and nepotism all the time as if ministers from Southern Region of Malawi are doing well in their ministries. The fact that Gondwe is heading the strategic ministry of government does not mean that he should resign because the Kwacha is weak against major currencies. When the minister from South does a small mistake, you don’t ask him or her to resign but when the minister from North you him to resign.

What should the President of Malawi do?
He should discuss with his cabinet and persuade the parliament to discuss a project bill of long term plan about going back to agriculture basics. In that bill, the members of parliament should not first discuss about money for agriculture inputs like fertilizers, seeds, pesticides but they discuss how to make use of water from Lake Malawi for farming. For how long shall Malawi suffer from hunger yet we plenty of water in the Lake? Why the government fails to table this bill in one of August house? The government should through the parliament should ask favourable donors like China and others so that they bring they waters of Lake Malawi from Chitipa to Lower Shire through by building dams and irrigation systems. Why? The reason is simple. Due to dependency of country’s natural rain, it is always uncertain we will have the rain in that year due to global warming resulting to El Nino. After finding the source and supply of water to the main land of Malawi, that is when we need to discuss how to find fertilizer, seeds, pesticides because these things go together but we have to start with how to get water first before everything.

Secondly, Lake Malawi is the third largest after Lakes Victoria and Tanganyika. It will suffice supplying water with the back up or complement of natural rain throughout the year. Farmers will be able to grow different crops without problems and worries of where to get the water.

Thirdly, we need to resuscitate the animal tanks which we had during first President Kamuzu Banda. We need to go back to live and strong animal husbandry and its veterinary system.
When the households will have food on the table every year, there will be not blame game of each other in politics. Mr President try to address this bill please.

  6. Hey guys, i mean Ntata n Mtumodzi, y can’t u just form ur own party than making noise on the bublic, u come there to show off telling malawians u have a good job, prove it by doing what ur friends are doing, Bushiri Gwamba n other pple have shown gud examples by giving food to the hungry osati kumangochita matama ngati mmadyetsa a Malawi ndinu kapena ngati anthu amabwera kudzatenga ma school fees kwanu

  7. Blaming finance minister, yes but where is the minister of Agriculture who encourages health workers, patients to grow their own food ? He is also to carry the blame.

  8. Ntata if you had known how Bushiri accummulated his wealth, you could have avoided voicing such sentiments. Ntata and Mtumodzi, you have both served in govt, who can trust you today. Who does not know how crook you are. Do not take Malawians for a ride.

I pray that Malawi seeks God’s face, we need upright parliament, upright people, Godfearing people. Amen!

  9. Bushiri belongs to a different arena, becoming a finance minister is a far fetched issue. If he does one day, then it is because we want to kick start the contry.

  10. Let me school Mtumodzi and Z Allan Ntata. Hunger in Malawi was created by JB who sold maize from NAtion food reserve disguising that the maize is rotten, secondly the hunger crisis is due to climate change where we received rains late last year and vanished very quickly there by causing maize to dry before it got ripe. Thirdly the floods in some parts of the country swept away most of the fields leaving bare ground. With the factors mentioned above, most Malawians were unable to harvest enough to feed their households. As for the sold maize, it meant we did not have any maize in the silos to cushion this deficit. Last but not least with no budgetary support, it has been difficult for the government to reach out each and every house hold in need of food. Therefore pointing a finger at some body is not only childish but jealousy at highest level. What these two gentlemen should know is that Malawians are aware that Ntata and Mtumodzi have been benefiting from the previous regimes I-e UDF, DPP and PP. Now this new DPP they have failed to get into the system and they are disgruntled hence the accusations.

  11. mtumoz has a point to make …………………..if I was also a professional legal practitioner…………I was to be at 4front………..advocating fo the resignation

  12. Sidala kukalamba koma nthawi. Chonde a Goodall Gondwe ndi a Peter mwakalamba basi asiyileni anyamata ayendetse dzikoli.

  13. can bushiri saves as a finance minister? mukufuna kuti dziko likwere kapena ligwe? a mtata mukuganiza bwanji? muziyamba mwaganiza musanalankhule. zankutu!

  14. Why missing the point? I laugh at the call for the president to appoint someone else. That is assuming that the clueless president like Peter can make a sound decision.

  15. Njala is not a DPP baby. KuZambia ilipo; kuZimbabwe ilipo; not even excluding South Africa njala ilipo so for anyone to blame the hunger stalking Malawians on the government is indeed prepostorous. As for Goodall can somebody cite an example of archaic economic policies the minister has proffered to our problems? Can somebody especially the Ntatas come up with an alternative economic document which government may follow in order to sort out the economic mess. People should be calling and demonstrating for Joyce Banda to return to Malawi and give Malawians their money back. They should be demonstrating at government to move faster and send to jail all those people involved in Cashgate but muliduuu and what to blame the economy downturn on the government. That will not wash. The problem is the same as in the past. People are jealousy of the DPP government and they know they will be very difficult to remove from power and hence you start making all sorts of silly and unintelligent allegations.

  16. Za ziii a Ntata ndi a Mtuumodzi mwazindikira pano poti munamanidwa mipando eti? How can u say the old president shld fire an old finance minister and choose a young energetic person for the post? Onse ndi okalamba inu nomwe ndiye mumawapangira campaign ndikumasangalala atabera mavoti. Anyamata osathandiza inu, fortune seekers. Your Peter was better off in the USA but you forced him to be a president and act as a screen saver whilst Chaponda, Henry Mussa ruling from the back. If you want Gondwe to resign then let the whole party resign and even yourselves zip up your mouths on politics coz you are useless young political fortune seekers who need to face what your young crook friend Mphwiyo faced. Mayina anu ndi odetsedwa to coment on political issues as your hands are dainted with July 20 blood, where you consipired to kill notherners during the demonstrations.

  17. One man cannot improve an economy. To improve an economy requires systems thinking. In a country where corruption is rampant, institutions are weak, policies are not adhered to, public services are inefficient, electricity power supply is not reliable, investment in public goods are pathetic, the president is sleeping, it is grossly unfair to point a finger at just one man, Goodall Gondwe!

  18. Nothing is working. Goodall might be old but i believe he is still ok. Goodall’s problem is failure to listen to advice. We cant have medicines in hospitals not because of lack of money but rather due to gross incompetence of CMST Management. How can Chisale head both pharmaceutical and procurement? The guy is a failure but Mkondiwa has succumbed to pressure from Statehouse to renew his contract for another 3 years when he is almost 60. What do you expect from a civil service which is headed by half wits? Just look at companies that are awarded contracts by CMST there is one Indian firm that dominates because it oils Chisale. Next week i will provide evidence of massive corruption at CMST and why Mkondiwa cant move against Kaupa and Chisale two incompetents.

  19. Malawians,

I accept that we are going through tough times socioeconomically, but to heap blame on one person Sir Godall is a blatant myopic analysis of the problem. in Malawi technocracy plays second fiddle to politics and that is a fact.

Well, through 2004-2009 when Bingu wanted to show that he dumped Muluzi for a purpose, he let Godall command our economy it worked and the economy ticked. Through 2009-2012 when he fell it was time to make a quick kill, he shoved Godall. MK90b, sorry MK577b is still yet to be accounted for.

I am sure Malawians take their hats off to Sir Prof. Mathews Chikaonda as a renowned and performing economist but just think of it, he fared badly as a Finance Minister under Muluzi.

With an agriculture economy which is not manufacturing for export, and a very rudimentary tax base coupled with untimely withdrawal of 40% of its budgetary support, it would really take a miracle for any minister to perform. The odds are simply against us.

But now, the question we should be asking ourselves is that, Why are we in such a big mess. Our politicians are a big let down and the ordinary citizenry is at blame. We sing, dance, praise instead of crying and foaming when these politicians siphon from our purse. The donor community wondered what is wrong with Malawians.

  20. Mwaona atumbuka akulusatu apaa!!! Zikoli atumbuka tikwaike ku Tanzania kuti liyende athu olephera chilichose aAaaaaah

  21. On hunger please don’t blame Gondwe, blame the minister of agriculture. You should also call for his resignation otherwise we label you southerners as biased against the northerner Goodall. chiyembekedza is young but also terribly failing on the hunger and food front gripping the country.

I don’t like Goodall but The whole dpp govt is failing, so it is wrong to blame one person alone. Food is the most important and the Agric minister is utterly useless and must go.

  22. The problem is leadership. what do you expect if government is robbed 577 bn . surely it will be bankrupt! First things first. If you lose a month salary pay you struggle to survive now imagine losing a whole year pay (like you are told keep working with zero pay) that is is what has happened to our country. we lost a big chunk of our money and government is apparently not keen to find out where this money went and expect life will be normal again and it is not and Mtuumodzi does not know the cause of economic malaise – sad. Sir just keep runing your radio you do not know economics !

  23. Timbamva itinso tikuti chani kodi? Tidaba za Bingu pano were left out. Simudzapondanso ku state house. Dziko radio imamaveka ku ma dambwe kokhakha ku chankhungu ko Mtumodzi ife sitinaveko. Takuba tianthu iti.

  24. Ministers should be chosen through interviews with Malawi vision, mission, goals attached and not party ideologies . Is gudo wants to die a minister? Thank god mwadyerera, mwakula, mwagwira ntchito, then go and rest. What else,do want to achieve zaka zatsalazi mr gudo?

  25. Yes,godwall or badwell gondwe has outlived his usefullness.apm has no resl team except what his late bro bingu had luk at tembenu is saying on gays wants mlw to be lawless.durely ee have economists who can do ze jib mathews chikainda, dr.magakasi and the university has fewd trainabke guys, other are with worldbanj right now as snr managers..who jonathan ..kajumo why not.mufuna.mlahwo,satero ati mwawononga…. Go bacj to bahamas forrvteaching in kawkessness kumasuta ganja!

  26. MPs in parliament should come up with a law that will change the current system whereby the president choose ministers. From now onwards ministers should be chosen through interviews, with a clear job description , our country vision, our country mission statement as well as goals to follow as opposed to the current setup where ministers work for their parties. With the current system, our country will never develop because ministers prioritize their parties.

  27. During Bingu era when Goodall was a minister, I told somebody that economy was ticking because of Bingu and not Goodall . Bingu was the one who used to tell Goodall what to do. In so doing, Goodall seemed to be a star. Today Bingu is no where to be seen, mr gudo is failing to get economy on track. If I were mr president , I would definitely fire gudo without much ado. He is useless to say the least. After all , he can’t use 1970s budget figures application

    in today’s time.

  28. Ntata ndamva ukupereka warning kwa Peter thru times tv.Kodi ukuziyesa wochenjera ?Dziwa izi mtsogoleri amasankhidwa ndi Mulungu so ng’oma yolira kwambiri sichedwa kusweka

  29. This Mtumodzi boy is just silly. He was talking as who? Fighting for my people, do you own people.
Uchindere pera! who do you think you are?

  30. Ntata ndakumvera ukupereka warning kwa peter pa times ukutanthauza chiani?palibetu akukufuna ai.Ndiwetu mwana dziwa kuti ng’oma yolira sichedwa kusweka

  31. Selective blaming is not a solution. Analyse the entire team of ministers and their leader; how are they performing? People are already forgetting the looting and inefficiencies in government; how can the country perform economically with widely entrenched mediocrity? There are several Malawians in high positions, who get promoted to positions, but wonder how. Even the civil service reform wont help. Don’t blame Gondwe you idiots.

  32. iyaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! kdi anthu inu bwanji? mumaoneka pamene simukudya nawo iyayi!!!!! lero mutakhala president inu MUNGATHETSE NJALA INU PA MIYEZI IWILI?

  33. Useless article I have ever read in my life, mtumodzi and ntata you are big fools this is absolutely nosense, when we said peter must step down what did you say? Nothing now you are blaming GG? Do you think gondwe has to take money from his pocket and bring economy to normal? No your stupid president is the one to blame here! Choosing bushuri coz of 25kg bag? Shame malawians. We stupid malawians must learn alesson not to vote coz of false manifesto or little help someone may offer to certain malawian citizens not all. Fuck u all wrote this article.

  34. For how long are we going to suffer in Silence. It is now time to voice out the cancer that is killing Malawi. And the name of this cancer is APM. Let’s loot it out.

  35. Anamalila Akulu asowa zochita after booted away from state house, wins ali Ku times akulila kwambiri anthu oipa osafunira dziko lawo zabwino.Tell your friends to stop importing cars from Japan and asiye kuba chuma chaboma

  36. Amtumodzi munati ziiii mwayambapo mwadya za ndani who is not aware of the turmoil the world is going through. after killing Bingu you want to kill APM ulendo uno samalani sitilola we shall fight to the end. izo muuzane ndi awo akukutumawo. you wont have an easy ride be assured.

  37. is this guy the same mtumodzi that was a boss under bingu? i still remember how rude he was to me a long time ago when he was untouchable.

bwanji braz, were u left out the door? ma boss akuswayani? zanu zimenezo afana. nobody on earth has ever heard of dziko fm amwene. we only know zodiak, capital, galaxy and times.

  38. The problem is not GG, let us blaim ourselves, remember the way we voted. How much did you expect from this comrade. For example if I were Peter having worked in USA and the good CV, I wouldn’t have bought a house from MHC, failed to solve the Unima issue, closed courts when am a lawyer. Wait, the dollar will go up to a thousand, with assurances that God is in control. When some are siphoning the money. Why did you campaign for us to vote for you to be our leaders when you knew that God controls your stolen money. Then leave Him alone after he crated Malawi alone. We don’t need you.

  39. Too much dependence on donor support and our failure to promote fiscal descpline has cost the ordinary citizens untold misery. Pointing accusing fingers at one another will not make our load lighter! Neither changing the cabinet nor toitoing will bring the EU helping hand back. Lets look ahead and divise ways and means that will enable the population to survive under the circumstances; crying over spilt milk wont allow us to see that light at the end of the tunnel. GOD HELP US!

  40. Two stupid boys who meyrcilessly looted with Bingu. Now you say fwefwefwe like your dead master. Chokani apa. Peter ndiye si nkhalamba? Why pick on Gondwe ndikusiya chileledzelele. wakwanuyo. Gondwe must of course go; but this make believe president must fall first. Chiyembekza has completely failed to manage agriculture. He must go. Fabiano and his fees hike must go. Msaka who has advised Peter to sell our lake must go. Atupele who pretends that the malata subsidy is good economics must go. Kampalume who sees no problem in denying employment of 51 new doctors and 300 nurses and fails to feed patients must go. Jappie Mhango who has strange plans for hospitals to produce their own foods must go. Chaponda who has decided to start fights with Americans and Britons must go. Actually, only 3 ministers who are working, Patricia Kaliati, Grace Chiumia and Kondwani Nankhuma.

  41. You thick people, it’s not about the finance minister but rather failure of the entire government. Changing finance minister WON’T take you anywhere.

  42. Anamalila awa wina ali Ku times kusokosera kumeneko anadzolowera kudya za ulelere anthu awulesi mwagwanayo simuzapondanso Ku state house. Tell people to stop importing cars from Japan and stop kuba zinthu za boma

  43. SHOULD GOODALL RESIGN BECAUSE OF HIS AGE???? IF THAT IS YOUR ARGUMENT, WHY NOT THE PRESIDENT. WHATEVER IS HAPPENING IN THIS COUNTRY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOODALL.

  44. This is total madness. You think changing the finance minister will solve the solution of economic mess done by JB and Bingu? Ntata and Mtumodzi please behave like young educated guys. Or are you been sent by the mlakho guys to find means to fire Goodall? I had a very respect for you Allan but you have let me down. You should have said the whole government. Allan you were in the government when donors runaway and had no fuel in the country during Bingu time. Ntata were you fired or does it mean you were the guys who were advising Bingu wrongly???? Allan Ntata you know how government operate. Don’t worst our time listening to senseless press conference. Mavuto atikwana. Can the minister decide how to govern the country???

  45. how much have Ntata and mtomodzi paid to BridgeView hotel for the conference why not buy maize then later talk the walk.Bushiri have set a mark by being practical not politricking .Mesa you have connections in the UK lobby for donations.

  46. Anamalila awa wina ali ku times akusokosela kumeneko anthu awulesi inu okanda kudya za ulele mwangwanayo simuzapondakonso Ku state house .Tell people to stop importing cars from Japan, musiyenso kubela boma ana a njoka inu.

  47. Goodal and chuka statement that kwacha has overdepreciated and it will rebound, but the fact remains kwacha has lost another MK30 to a dollar since this announcement. There is something wrong with reserve bank policies, as this has never been the case n the past that our currency continously deprecaite for 9 months. We need to fix the kwacha or just dollarise. Mugabe took 20 years to change from Zim dollar to us Dollar Goodal has done it in 2 years. I dont see kwacha will the national currency come december 2016 it is becoming uselsss every day. Goodall ndi mugabe yathu

  48. Peter Mutharika, born, 1940, age 76. Goodall Gondwe, born 1936, age 80. You Mtumodzi and Ntata can’t you see that both of them are old? If your line of argument is anything to go by, both of them must go. The thing is, this economy is in shambles because donors don’t trust the DPP govt, hence they have closed the budgetary aid tap. K577bn during DPP reign of terror can’t be accounted for. And Dausi has the stupidity to send his boy to steal the DPP cashgate report from German diplomat house. Peter must resign.

  49. ONE DR GEORGE CHAPONDA TOLD THE WHOLE PARLIAMENT WHEN JB WAS IN POWER THAT ” THE FISH ROTS FROM ITS HEAD”.

IN THIS CASE PETER MUTHALIKA IS THE HEAD WHILE GONDWE IS EITHER THE BODY OR TAIL OF THE FISH.LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF GOOD THINKING, WHAT IS PETER MUTHALIKA DOING APART FROM SLEEPING OVER A HEAVILY BLEEDING ECONOMY AND JUST EATING OUR TAX MONEY AT STATE HOUSE.

SOME OF THE DONORS CONDITIONS TO OPEN THEIR AID TAPS ARE VERY SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD TO IMPLEMENT BUT THERE IS NO PROGRESS.LOOK PETER MUTHALIKA AS A PRESIDENT CANNOT EVEN APPRECIATE THAT GONDWE’S AGE IS SO ADVANCED THAT HE CANNOT TURN AROUND THE ECONOMY YET MALAWI HAS A POOL OF INTELLIGENT AND ENERGETIC ECONOMISTS. THE FAILED PROFESSOR MUST GO FIRST BEFORE GONDWE THEN DR CHAKWERA MUST COME IN.

  50. Ntatà and Ntumodzi the problems are not entirely a result one man failure. A Muthalika aganizireni maudindo awiriwa muona asintha nkhani zawo. A Ntumodzi ndani angaganize zokuphani kuti munene kuti muli wokonzeka kufa.

  51. People have spoken about GG’s old which is making all Malawians function like grand papas. This is taking the nation for granted. We are mot looking gor wisdom, we are looking for fresh ideas that can deal with the current problems. No winder he says the economy of this country is in the hands of God. It means he has ran out of ideas. If aprof. Peter cannot see anyone out of 17 million people to replace Goodall then he has also run out of ideas. After all they are both grand papas. I feel sorry for mother Malawi

  52. I agree with Sapitwa. We should contribute enough ideas of Economic subject to jointly solve these problems because one or two people have done their part but progress is delaying. Let us make enough research, define the problem and to present the findings and sulutions to the problem to our Finance Minister for implementation.

  53. I think u mtomodz u r stupid why dont u call the resgnation of our president is the one who makes things worse in this country, sakufunidwa ndi anthu akunja ameneyo

  54. These guys also messed up the pension act which only leaves a pensioner to go home and die . 40% to be given to the pensioner and 60% to be left behind. Why after retiring the money should not be in the pensioners hands? Onanipo apa.

  55. The problem might have come from afar when Government funds were cashgated and from global warming and climatic change when we cannot yield from our gardens due to lack of rains.

  56. Minister of Finance was appointed by someone. If the government has failed, it is the whole government. It cannot be one individual in that government.
Leave GG alone. Some of you are good at talking, but cannot perform.
If you activists are looking for scapegoats, then you are missing the plot.
Let the whole government resign. They are failing to deal with the K577billion.
That is where the economic problems of Malawi are coming from.
GG cannot carry the problems of the whole cabinet on his head.

  57. It is time now that Malawians need to wake up from a deep sleep. Goodall and Peter must go and they must go now. These people don’t have any solutions to the problems Malawians are facing. Bravo Mtumodzi and Ntata

  58. We have had these calls in numerous occasions. All who raised this issue in the past failed to put proposals that are unavailable in Gondwe or that they were put forward to him but he has failed to apply those proposals due to his old age. By just calling Gondwe to resign in repeat without giving alternative economic options is just making wild noise which no one can take it serious.

Gondwe has no good reason to resign and his master APM has no good reason to remove him because no any Malawian Economist has put proposals on the public domain to Gondwe that if applied, certainly the Kwacha will stop surging, prices will go down, maize will be available etc.
You say Malawians are ignorant of what is happening and therefore are failing to question the Government. Fair enough to say but you have also failed to articulate this economic subject matter that Gondwe is failing about. You are therefore one of those Malawians who are ignorant of what is happening in the economic world.

  59. We Have now entered 2nd week since Goodall said about the kwacha stabilising but there is no sign yet.May the State President reshuffle his cabinet .

  60. Two crooks damped from the corridors of power. All of a sudden, they have “their people”. What a joke.

  61. GOODAL
    GOODAL !!

    FWE FWE FWE !!
    BECAUSE HE IS TUMBUKA ???

WHY CANT YOU TALK OF CASHGATE ???
    MK577 BILLION PLUNDERED
    By the whole DPP ??,?

    TALK ABOUT HUNGER CRISIS

    SHORTAGE OF MEDICATIONS
    IN HOSPITALS .

  62. Mtumudzi is a courageous man , we want people like him. Mr Mtumodzi am ploud of you. You are speaking from reality. I cherish you.

  63. Gondwe mwakalamba tsapano ndipo siyani pansi udindo nthawi yanu inatha kalekale and panono nzeru zanu zinatha ndipo tivomereze izi !!!!!!!!
