GD disclosed this during exclusive listening session of the single.

The self produced ‘Osagonja’ is an inspirational song coming at an economically tough time when the Reserve Bank of Malawi just recently announced they will start issuing MK2,000 which is a sign of inflation. Not a good look, according to GD.

GD is more than an artist. He is an influential part of a lot of lives of youths and as a duty, to not only entertain but help them cope, progress. He is like Steve Jobs on this one.

He explains what motivated him.

“The Malawian struggle, I wanted to speak to that kid in the ghetto. Born with the odds against you, all this inflation, corruption, theft and high school fees. It’s the bottom feeders, us, the Ghetto youth who suffer”

“So all am saying is never give up. So I used a lot of Malawian idioms that can encourage Malawian’s to stay positive”

On the song GD shares a lot of positivity and the Jazzy feel at the beginning, brings soul to it.

Every time GD goes solo he is impressive and this is one of them.

Here is a sample of verse 2, “Sometimes moyo uli ngati dzenje/kutelera ngati denje/ adani amafuna kukuyika ndende/don’t let devil see your plan always keep a straight face/fufuza ena anadiwa/osamasewera padiwa/kufuna moyo wachikhiwa/Osamagotengera patsogolo mudzalira osagwera mphwayi/ paja ndi tsoka mudzataya mwayi/my sister stop crying/ failing is just a lesson if you don’t stop trying/journey of a thousand miles/we know its gonna take a while/one step at a time/one a mile at a time/and dont forget along the way to find a way to smile”
