Fisd kits out semi-finalists
Fisd Limited Company on Friday set the hype for the semi-final matches slated for this weekend by presenting uniforms to all the four teams Be Forward Wanderers, Blue Eagles, Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks.
The giant irrigation company presented sets of uniforms during a colourful ceremony held at the Mpira Village in Limbe.
Charles Nyirenda, representing Fisd Limited Company said the move to present uniforms is one way of encouraging the participating teams nto work hard in order to reach as far as the semi-finals.
Nyirenda also urged football lovers to observe discipline during the games, and advised the police and stewarts to arrest anybody who will invade the pitch.
“Don’t allow people who are not supposed to be inside the pitch. Arrest them because they are enemies in the game of football,” said Nyirenda.
He also asked football authorities to usher in professional referees to officiate these matches, because they do not want to witness violence due to poor officiation.
Speaking on behalf of FAM was Daudi Sulemani, who hailed Fisd Limited Company for their sponsorship , urged other companies to follow suit.
Sulemani also described the cup as competitive basing on the fact that some little known teams like Lake Valley, Sayama FC were shown an exit-door in the quarter finals.
In the first game on Saturday Blue Eagles will take on Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium, while on Sunday the focus will be in Lilongwe where Silver Strikers hosts Kamuzu Barracks.
