Makonyola describes win over BB as ‘special’ as Eagle reignite their season

Blues Eagles coach Audrey Makonyola has described his side’s 1-0 win over Big Bullets as ‘special’ as his side reignite their season.

Makonyola tips his charges during the game, Pic Alex Mwazalumo

He said in a post match interview after Eagles substitute, Chisomo Chilasa’s 80th minute stunner handed third placed Nyasa Bullets second defeat of the season at Nankhaka stadium in area 30, Lilongwe.

Eagles who had poor run of form in the past weeks had to bounce back by taming the people’s team before a packed stadium just 10 minutes to regulation time.

Blue Eagles have registered their second win in the TNM Super League under the tutelage of Coach Audrow Makonyola.

Makonyola’s tactics worked better after he pulled out Elijah Kabingu for the fresh legs of Chilasa in the 73rd minute of the encounter.

Chilasa was only seven minutes into the game when he connected Mathews Muloweza’s touch after he had received a fine pass from his captain, Mecium Mhone on the right flank of the southern goal.

” Am a happy coach to win this game. We needed to have time in order to start winning games. We have good players who can deliver if given a chance to do so,” sounded happy coach Makonyola after the game.

He said “we played a good team and our players made them not to play their usual game.”
