Mchengautuba Utd shows Luwinga white sand in SIMSO Premier League
Mchengautuba is a Tumbuka word meaning “white sand”. The sand in a better part of Mchengautuba location in the city of Mzuzu is indeed white in colour and the SIMSO Premier League outfit from the location promised to show Luwinga United white sand; meaning they would baptize them with more than one goal on Sunday at Luwinga Technical Centre Ground. They indeed won the game 2 nil.
Coming into the game on position seven on the log table, Mchengautuba United showed up at Luwinga Technical Centre Ground to collect maximum three points against the hosts who were on position sixteen in a league comprising twenty teams.
Almost 15 minutes into the game, Mchengautuba’s Steve Madimba had his header into Luwinga United’s net but assistant referee Macmillan Musopenge had his flag up for off side.

The home side came back into the second half rejuvenated after pep talk but strikers Fredo Chanya and Ntchindi Chikwezga were so wasteful in front of Mchengautuba United goal.
Uchizi Vunga broke through on the right in the 53rd minute and just like playing with beautiful white sand, he easily beat advancing goalkeeper Mark Chaula to take the game to two nil.
Although Luwinga United fought hard to get a consolation goal, no shot went past goalkeeper Patrick Minga for Mchengautuba United, who kept rolling down on the floor after every easy catch, as if he was playing on white sand back home in Mchengautuba, to run down the clock in his team’s favour.
Speaking to Nyasa Times after the match, Luwinga United coach, Zicky Kajazi, said it was very painful to lose at home, admitting that his striking force was so blunt.
The visiting coach, Victor Mhone, said it was an exciting game and it was pleasing to collect maximum points away.
“We started on a bad note as the league commenced but we have now discovered our winning formula. We didn’t join SIMSO Premier League just to donate points. We will fight up to the end of the season,” remarked Mhone.
Mchengautuba United have now moved up to position five with 16 points from 10 games while Luwinga United have dropped to position 17 after playing 8 games and they still have 8 points.
