DPP’s Mzomera asks Nyondo, Chipofya to resign as Synod leaders: ‘They are now politicians’

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regional governor for the north Mzomera Ngwira on Wednesday attacked the Synod of Livingstonia of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) leadership for politicizing the church.

Mzomera:  The church clerics have now joined politics in support of MCP-UTM alliance

Mzomera told reporters  in Mzuzu that  the synod’s general secretary the Reverend Levi Nyondo  Reverend  Levie Nyondo and moderator Reverend Douglas Chipofya  should  immediately resign for their political involvement in UTM-MCP electoral alliance.

According to Mzomera, the recent decision by the two to endorse the UTM-MCP alliance is vindication that  Nyondo and Chipofya have joined frontline politics.

“They should resign. They are destroying the church’s reputation and there is no need for another evidence,” said the outspoken DPP governor.

He said the two should not hide in church’s mask when they are in frontline politics advancing the UTM-MCP alliance agenda.

  1. In all senses when addressing people, organisations you do so following seniority since etiquette says so. So seniority matters – should it be UTM/MCP Alliance or MCP/UTM Alliance? Zeze is manipulating things and knows very well which strings to pull while Lazaro is busy and engaged in preparing on Zeze’s behalf his grand cameo.

  2. Ba Mzomera, mweee kukawa banyinu kucharu kuno!!!.. Dare fight the clergy, religious leaders or the church..my friend just know you are doomed!!! anthu awa ndi wodzodzedwa!!! Mbakusoleka awa!! walekeni dada Ngwira mwapulukira mthondo!!! ndyali za vimbundi na u bendezi zimutoleleninge ku phompho

  3. Look at him. Just like the lead actor in “The Gods Must Be Crazy”. I wonder why DPP mocks intelligent malawians, particularly faithful DPP followers, by appointing thieves like him into the party’s top positions? Is it a question of the party’s need for hoodlums at times? No wonder the party is sliding down fast.

    1. Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Mtete pola moto. Mpaka Gods must be crazy. Bushman. Ndaseka Mpaka misonzi. He looks exactly like him. I think they are twin brothers

  4. You have a long list of people to remind to resign.
1.My boss APM who is caretaker president.
    2. Jani Ansa who is adamant to oversee an election that she is incompetent to run.
    3. All MEC commissioners who are rude and money hungry.
    4. All those newly appointed guys who have just been placed in strategic positions to help the DPP.
    5. The list continues…. Mtaba the albino hunter included.

  5. Komadi reverand nyondo pena amalakwitsa. eversince his arrest for anti-bingu speech he has been a lost soul.

  6. I thought kuti the court found him only materialy bankrupt. I ddnt know kuti he is also mentally bankrupt. Why cant he ask azimfumu ambirix2 amene amapanga za DPP to resign?

  7. This Reverend called, MZOMERA is a disgrace to the people of the North. He is just after money. Nothing else! His Reverendship leaves a lot to be desired. He’s a puppet of the stupid DPP.

  8. This is the reason I like Mutharika. He is so slow and tactless man. He appoints people with no vision, who careless attack institutions and people they cant win. Is DPP sure it can win fighting a church? Does it need to fight now or it need more support? Mutharika thinks he can keep fighting all the way. Mind you time is running away and soon you will be former president be it 2020 or 2025. Be in good terms with people

    1. Is Nyondo a church? Kuganiza moperewela! You think every member of the synod is happy with Nyondo’s behaviour? You do not know Nyondo that is why you comment like that. Let me revel to you that he has just bought a twelve million house near his lodge. Where does he get the money? Tulo basi.

      1. Ask him…….but who told you that our ministers are poor? Who told you that they depend on the church alone? Who told you that as church members, we have problems with Nyondo? Eni ake, tabene tili pheee and enjoying Nyondo and Chipofya fighting DPP for us…….mukukanika to go pass him so that you can victimize, cheat, tell lies and take advantage of the Northerners nchifukwa chake mwayamba kufuna kuti achoke…..Nyondo sachoka, adzachoka after kuchoka kwa Mutharika and your thieving government including you…..after elections

Uwonanso, munthu wakuba otengeka, wokonda ndalama iwe mpaka kufika kugulitsa Northerners for the money for you and your family’s survival…mxiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  10. Mzomera, the synod leadership has been speaking for the common man in the north after seeing that politicians like you from the north simply serve your bellies. Are you happy that quota system is used at PSLCE and MSCE exams? Are you happy with Rampant Corruption, nepotism and Regionalism?Tell us the progress of Mombera University in your district other than giving directives to the church leadership.

    1. Amzomera mutu wazweta kwali ni vyamba ,,,,,,aaaaaaaaaah, akulu imwe ndimwe mdankhe kuleka uliska mwapulika.Vya ziiiiiii na mchere hah

    2. By nature, people are political whether you are a Church or Moslem leader, a Christian or a moslem because we awere all created in the image of God who Himself is a Great Politician. I have heard the so called politician endorsing that a leader is chosen by God, if so then His prophets are political as the teach and deliver the word of God who is a Great politician. Remember the first King of Israel, Saul was chosen by God and the same Saul was dethroned by God and God sent His prophet to go and annoint David as King. But what happened Saul refused to step down and the result was saul was stalking to kill David, exactly what is happening now in Malawi. Some sections of the Malawi society are crying why some Church leadership have joined frontline politics forgetting that God chooses Kings and Queens, and Chiefs in those position to serve His peolple. so please try to understand the word of God in our lives.
