Mzuzu youth postpones its passport demonstrations: Says Chakwera’s presence raises security concerns

The Mzuzu Youth Caucus has postponed its demonstrations that were planned for Thursday, March 7th, 2024 due to security concerns.

In a statement released by the youth grouping, the postponement has been arrived at during a stakeholders meeting where it was agreed that the presence of the head of state in the north has created a political tension.

“The presence of His Exellency the President, in the northern region has created a politically charged environment.

Consequently, our gathering has the potential to provoke uncivilized and misguided political figures, leading to violence in their pursuit of political milestone, ” reads part of the statement.

Meanwhile, the demonstrations, whose objective was to demand the immediate resumption of the printing of passports and reduction of passport fees will take place next week Thursday, March 14th 2024.

However, similar demonstrations planned for Lilongwe will proceed.

  1. People of mzuzu you are very mad and useless for that matter, the main aim was to ask the government to start issuing the passport and to reduce its price IMMEDIATELY, what the hell is it to do after 8 good days?
No wonder why all other regions think that we are loses all the time, everyone is stranded here because of passport that is the future of our children and for all malawians .
Please next time just keep quiet about it ,as Original Tumbuka am very disappointed with this ,because the very reason you failed to do it today it shows that you will be used all the time ,yes bwana yes bwana ,use your brain that God gave you.
