Malawi Police arrest Indian man for illegally conducting ‘Kaunjika’ business

Malawi Police in Lilongwe have arrested a man of Indian origin for staying in the country illegally and conducting business without permit.

Lilongwe police Public Relations Officer Kingsley Dandaula said the man Said Abus, 28, was arrested on Monday at 10:00hrs in the morning at Bwalolanjobvu in Area 2.

The Police was tipped and started following him until they found the accused at Brothers Enterprise shop where he was operating a business of selling second hand clothes [Kaunjika] without business permit documents.

“We have handed over the case to the department of Immigration where the accused person will soon appear in court to answer charges,” he said.

Dandaula pleaded with the general public to report any cases of illegal suspects they come across in their communities.
