Chinamuluma Chakuda star in J’burg for shows, as Botswana show impressed Skeffa
Skeffa Chimoto, of the Chinamuluma Chakuda fame, who is current on a trip around SADC countries Botswana, South African and Zambia, says the tour has started on a good note.
The musician, who alongside his Real Sounds band left the country Thursday, on a three-week long tour, had their first show on Saturday, 12th July in Botswana.
Speaking on the first performance at Phakalane Golf Estate in Gaborone, Skeffa said they started at a good pace and everything looked promising.
“We had a wonderful performance on Saturday and the organisation was very good. The audience was responsive and was very much interested in the content,” he told Nyasa Showbiz.
“Another good thing was that it was comprised of people not only from Botswana but Zambia, South Africa and Malawi,” said Skeffa in an interview.
“The equipment we used was marvelous and it’s the one that all big names like Ringo, Hugh Masekera and many use when they come to perform in Botswana, so to me and the band, it has been a memorable journey and we will never forget it,” explained Skeffa.
The show in Botswana was organised by Society of Malawians Living in Botswana (Somabo).
Meanwhile, Skeffa and the Real Sounds band are in South Africa where they will have three shows in Johannesburg on July 18, 19 and 20.
After their South Africa tour, the artists are expected to be in Zambia for the Lusaka Gala Festival from July 30 to August 3.
