TNM Super League 2nd round launched in grand style

Business came to a halt in the capital city, Lilongwe from Saturday morning up to the lunch hour as giant mobile company TNM- sponsors of the country’s national soccer league stormed the city’s populous townships to set the tone for the beginning of the league’s second round.

The party started at Crossroads Complex, passing through Area 18 into Area 25. From Area 25, the procession moved to Area 49, 47 and City Centre before heading towards Area 23 via Kamuzu Institute of Sports and Chilinde. From Area 23, the show switched to Chinsapo and Likuni via Kawale and Old Town.

In all these areas, fans- both young and old lined up the streets and other designated places to share the excitement.

During the stopovers, TNM gave out prizes like caps, T-shirts, Vuvuzelas and other items to fans that provided right answers to questions asked by the company’s crew. The TNM Anti-violence mascot-Shasha was also on board, delivering anti-violence messages to the masses.
From the townships, the procession went to Civo Stadium- venue for the official second round opening fixture involving Civo United and Big Bullets.

Speaking during the tour, TNM’s Marketing Manager Madalitso Jonazi said the sponsors were greatly impressed with the response from fans and customers during the launch activities.

“We are extremely happy with the response from fans and customers. There is a lot of excitement and everywhere we have gone Shasha is being given a hearty welcome.

“We hope people are taking the messages and that we will have a violent-free second round,” said Jonazi, who covered the entire tour.
