Queens lose MTL sponsorship
Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) has withdrawn sponsorship for domestic netball giants MTL Queens to the tune of K6 million per season.
MTL corporate affairs manager Tina Das confirmed tending their romance that lasted over a decade.
According to Das, MTL has withdrawn sponsorship as a result of the restructuring exercise which the company underwent recently.
Das said their are no plans by MTL to venture into different sports sponsorship
Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) president Rosy Chinunda and Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) general secretary Anne Hanjahanja-Billie were shocked wth the development.
Apart from MTL, other companies that have withdrawn sponsorship of netball clubs in recent years include Admarc and Escom
The only notable club sponsorship by a company is from Alliance One.

Club woes will consequently affect the Malawi Queens. We are all hoping for the national team to break into the top four on world stage. The last anyone would expect is news like this. I hope a sponsor will be identified soon for this team. AIRTEL, wont you pick the mantle?
