Bushiri calls for Malawi prophets ‘summit’ Feb 6
Leader and founder of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, who is considered as the founding father of Prophetic Ministry in Malawi is expected to host “Prophets Conference” slated for February 6 at Golden Peacock in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Bushiri says he wishes to address fellow prophets on issues of national importance and how they can work together to solidify the Prophetic Ministry in the country.
In an interview with Nyasa Times, Bushiri highlighted that time has come for prophets, as servants of God to unite and be of great importance to people and to the nation at large.
“I have indeed called for this meeting with all prophets in Malawi so that we can discuss issues necessary for prophetic ministry,” Bushiri told Nyasa Times.
“ As you know, there isn’t much of unity among prophets as compared to other callings and this is because we are all operating independently with no unifying body despite being people of same vision. With my influence and reach, I believe I will be able to initiate this oneness among prophets,” said Bushiri.
The meeting comes after some citizens expressed anxieties towards the behavior of some prophets who rush to give national prophecies that in the end simply create confusions and never come to pass.
However, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri denied to comment on such allegations and maintained that the conference has nothing to do with failed prophecies or prophets who have taken the ministry as a way of enriching themselves.
“Let me stress that this is morally a togetherness meeting by prophets and has nothing to do with anything that’s aimed at demeaning or attacking anyone. I believe we are all men of God called to serve Him and I have no mandate to judge my fellow men of God.
“ I should also agree that there have been times when we have failed to live to our billing as prophets but that does not mean God instantly takes away the gift of prophecy. We have cases in the bible when great men such as David sinned before God but took a repentant step that God, as merciful as he is forgave him. Let me also remind you that the devil will always find errors among active servants of God just to depress followers who look up to them,” explained Bushiri.
According to Bushiri, it’s also his motive to discuss with his fellow prophets on how best he can help them financially to magnify their ministries as they work towards spreading the gospel.
“We see in the bible that it was God’s plan for Joseph to be sold to the Egyptians. He is the very same person who helped save the tribes of Israel during famine. Despite so many accusations that were levelled against me, God still raised me up and I have achieved a lot at my age. I believe God did this for a purpose so that I can also help my fellow servants and time has come for me to fulfil this mandate and am inviting all prophets to come.
“This is open to everyone who has a prophetic revelation and considers him/herself as one. Whether they get invitations or not, come Friday at Golden peacock, everyone will be welcomed and this is free of charge as I have met all costs for the conference,” said Bushiri.
Bushiri also explained that the meeting aims to encourage prophets to honour and respect men of God in other callings.
“I have seen a number of times when prophets have failed to respect founding fathers of revival ministry in our midst. I believe men of God such as Apostle Madalitso Mbewe, Apostle Felix Zalimba, Apostle Khoviwa, Apostle Ndovie, Bishop Mark Kambalazaza and many others who started revival ministry in Malawi deserve respect from us prophets. They are the people we should go to for knowledge and great understanding of revival ministry,” he said.
Bushiri said he hassn’t officially invited Pentecostal church leader to attend the gathering.
Furthermore on the interview, Bushiri also explained that the conference will also tackle issues of national importance.
“As you know Malawi was recently hit with floods and as we speak, a lot of people are in need of support, it is therefore against this reason that I wish to discuss with my fellow prophets on how best we can help this situation whether with monetary or spiritual support and I believe we will have something planed at the end of the meeting,” said Bushiri.
Confirming his availability for the conference, Prophet Justice Hara of Ambassador for Christ Ministry said that he was thrilled with the news.
“This is good news to me and I thank Prophet Bushiri for taking this great step. It’s something that has never happened before in the history of Prophetic Ministry in Malawi and him being the person that prophets look up to, I thank him a lot and I was glad when he asked me to help him organize this,” said Prophet Hara.
Some of the notable prophets to attend the conference include Prophet Andrew Kambeja, Prophet Samuel, Prophet Wakisa, Prophet Kalolo, Prophet Kautsire, Prophet Mbewe.
