Aircraft donated to Gertrude Mutharika’s Beautify Malawi Trust

First Lady Gertrude Mutharika’s Beautify Malawi Trust has received a donation of an aircraft from Delivering Hope International (DHI), an American humanitarian organisation.

The donation has been made to assist the First Lady and her Trust to respond to emergencies on time.

According to Collins Magalasi, President Mutharika’s Chief Economic Adviser, the benefactor will meet the operational costs of the D4 plane for two years.

“They will also provide pilots and engineers in that period,” said Magalasi.

D4 is a two-seat light aircraft capable of landing or taking off on a flat field measuring at least 100 metres.

“It means the plane would be able to land on football pitches, and that makes it ideal and convenient for the fulfilment of the purpose for which it has been given,” he explained.

Magalasi said the donation was timely considering that country depended on Malawi Defence Force’s (MDF) helicopters to respond to natural disasters.

DHI president will be in Malawi in the next fortnight to have the aircraft registered and licenced.

DHI is a Christian non-profit organisation with three-fold long term goal; missionary team mobilisation, aircraft response and humanitarian aid.

Anzathu mumadziwa bwino za ndege inu tatiuzani bwino bwino kuti akati 2 seater plane amatanthauza chiyani? Because if it means our simple English understanding, then this plane is a big joke to our 1st lady coz it means the President will play a pilot role while the wife plays a passenger role thereby demeaning themselves. Koma akakhala Peter ndi kudziwa ineyo, ndege imene yo aikana!! Azunguwa asamatitole pa ziri zonse mu dzina lotithandiza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whites are bad people. After noting that Peter had introduced the zero defeceit budget, they are now giving him this useless plane so that all the collected monies should go towards maintaining this plane instead of channeling the resources to other dept. Zimatengera mtsogoleri wa nzeru kuiwerengera patali game ndi kupeza chochita pompo pompo osati mpakana madzi afike mu mkhosi. The president should have rejected the plane right there if its really a gift coz I don’t see any relevance of this plane to Beam trust whose core values is sanitation. Nanga job Description ya Beam kweni kweni ndi… Read more »

If Mr Magalasi as so called chief economic adviser to PM thinks that a 2 seater aircraft can respond to Malawi’s natural disasters in stead of the non existant MDF choppers then he must be a seriously ill patient that should be evacuated immediately by Delivering Hope International.
