Former Bullets General Secretary Higger Mkandawire who is also a football analyst has hit at Football Association of Malawi (FAM) over appointment of sub-committees.
Mkandawire said most of the members had questionable loyalty to the game of football hence could not help in the development agenda of the association.
He said some of the members had never been associated with football and could hardly do it after being appointed.
“I think most of the members have no connection with football. They have little if not no knowledge of local football in the country,” Mkandawire told Ufulu Radio sports panel discussion programme.
“The appointed members normally watch international football in executive sports clubs which make them to be ignorant of local football standards.”
He also claimed that most of the appointed members were re-elected FAM president Walter Nyamilandu cronies.
“It’s a fact that it’s a payback time to his friends. There’s nothing football about most of the members appointed in sub-committees,” he said.
Nyamilandu’s re-election campaign theme was ‘Harvest Time.’
Some of the members who have been appointed with questionable football connection are golfer Roza Mbilizi and women rights activist Seodi White.
