Ansah appointed Malawi Electoral Commisison new chairperson
Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) George Mkondiwa has confirmed the appointment of Justice of Appeal Jane Mayenu Ansah, SC as the new Chairperson for the Malawi Electoral
Commission (MEC).
According to Mkondiwa through a statement released Friday, the appointment is with effect from today Friday 14th October, 2016.
Her appointment follows nominations by the Judicial Service Commission.
The position of MEC Chair fell vacant in August this year following the sudden death of Justice Maxon Mbendera, SC.
Mbendera reportedly died after colapsing amidst a heated meeting in Lilongwe.
