Ansah likened to a ‘slay queen’ for her completely tone deaf performance

Embattled Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) chairperson Jane Ansah  has been likened to a “slay queen” for displaying a completely tone deaf performance at her appearance before Parliament’s Public Appointments Committee (PAC) inquiry at Parliament Building in Lilongwe, when she  gave photojournalists a chance to take photos like a celebrity set of photo session.

A slay queen is a woman who most likely has a big posterior and uses it to attract vulnerable men with the aim of making a living out of them.

Commenting on a newspaper pictorial of Ansah poses,  renowned lawyer Raphael Kasambara  posted on Facebook that the conduct of Ansah, a judge of the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal, is beffititng “our slay queens and upcoming divas.”

He posted: “Surely not of a high ranking government official about to testify before an august parliamentary committee.”

Slay queens is a trending word nowadays often used to refer to classy and stylish women. Most girls accompany their edited photos on social media with #slaying. They are girls who love fashion and go by trends.

Ansa’s appearance at the inquiry follows the Constitutional Court judgement that nullified the presidential election over irregularities and mandated Parliament to assess the commissioners’ competences.

The court found that the electoral body incompetently managed the May 21 2019 Tripartite Elections, especially in the management of the presidential election results.

Ansah’s appearance came against a background of calls by Human Rights Defenders Commission, through a series of nationwide demonstrations that at times turned ugly, for her to resign for presiding over a flawed electoral process.

But she told the inquiry that  she will only quit if the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal upholds the February 3 2020 Constitutional Court judgement that nullified the May 21 2019 presidential election for massive irregularities.

Ansah said she sees no reason to tender her resignation because she believes she presided over a free, fair and credible election.

  6. Slay queen indeed. This is what we call “diluting the so called admirable professionalism”. Displaying a completely tone deaf performance can not be something to be proud of. Jane Ansah is not an island that she cannot be reached. She has done a lot of damages to Malawi, the once Mighty MEC has now become a laughing stock. Akuti ma photo pose, please don’t make me laugh. Minyendo yokhwima ngati nkhuni kufuna kuseketsa nayo mtundu wa a Malawi. I am ashamed on Jane Ansah’s behalf. I am not a politician, I am just a Malawian who loves Malawi.

    Our Good Lord, You are Jehova who listens to your people. You will not let an innocent person suffer because of hate and greed from enemies. I am certain that you know the whole truth of how the tripartite election happened in our country Malawi. And nobody of us all know the whole truth more than you. Our Lord God! we had similar election prior to this where Dr. Chilima was blamed to have assisted DPP to win the election through his manipulation on the computers. It was everywhere that DPP won because Chilima assisted to rig. Some people believed this to be true but Chilima himself and You our God knew the whole truth. Fortunately it went to pass. This time around, the same Chilima who said these are kids, they cannot rig this election is in the fore front claiming that the election was rigged, tippexed in favour of DPP. Lord it is my sincere belief that indeed tippex was used by teachers not in a wrong way but it was used to correct the mistakes. And I am sure that You our dear Lord know this. There are many people languishing in Prisons, not because they are wrong, but because they failed to defend themselves. I ask you Lord, Don’t allow the MEC chairperson and Commissioners suffer for the good work they did for Malawians just because of hate and greed from enemies. These people went to school where their parents spent a lot of money with the aim to make them self reliant. Most of them are Bread Winners in their homes and they take care of their parents and siblings. Don’t allow Satan to oust them from their jobs because they will suffer for no reason. You are The Good Lord who listens and answer our prayers. Please answer my prayer. AMEN!!

  13. Kasambara has pathological hatrage of Ansah. This certified criminal can not find others in the wrong. Had it not been that the judiciary is under tumbukas who gave him bail, this convict would have been rotting in jail. Kasambara has infected many young girls with the virus and those of you who will marry those pretty young girls from poly just know that this serial womaniser has had a go at them and infected them with the virus. He actualy has a bed at his office where he beds at least minmunm two women a day.

  17. Who is Kasambara after all. A third and criminal Tumbuka saved by his own Tumbuka judges. This one should stop making any comments. He is is trying to clean his record this criminal. This is where Tumbuka judges showed their colors. When are you taking him back to jail you fools? If it’s someone unknown to you he would be rot in jail by now.

Since demonstrations started, the government has spent billions to provide security to demonstrators and property, lives have been lost, many people have been injured, businesses ruined, the country deeply dived than it has ever been before and this women still clings to her job. There isn’t even a single person in Malawi who can approach her and ask her to step down? We have allowed a country to suffer just because of a chair of MEC? What power does she have to cause such grief?

To me, as a Malawian, my first impressions and feelings were that she’s thumbing her nose at us with disdain for demanding her to resign and depart for having messed up our country’s General Elections as MEC’s Chairperson. The posing like some night queen does not befit a SC Judge, if I may so
