Anti-rabies vaccines now available in Malawi – Central Medical Stores Trust
Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) says the anti-rabies vaccines that were not available can now be accessed in all district health facilities in the country.
CMST Spokesperson, Helbert Chandilanga, said the shortage of the vaccines is expected to be minimised, saying currently the trust has completed distribution of the vaccines to treat over 3000 cases.
Chandilanga disclosed that as of Monday 10th June, the trust had finished delivering anti-rabies vaccine in all the three regions of the country.

“Southern region has over 1714 cases of rabies whilst the Central region has about 1278 cases and the northern region has about 580 cases of rabies,” he said.
Chandilanga has since advised district health officers that they can now make orders for the vaccine through the regional medical stores.
