Archbishop Ziyaye bids farewell to Blantyre Archdiocese Sunday
Archbishop Tarcizio Ziyaye will this Sunday bid farewell to Blantyre Archdiocese catholics as heads for Lilongwe Archdiocese as its head.
This follows his recent appointment by Pope Francis to leave Blantyre and head Lilongwe where Archbishop Remi Ste Marie has retired.
Fr Enock Kanjira said Archbishop Ziyaye will conduct the farewell mass at Limbe Cathedral from 9.30 am and Lilongwe will welcome him the following week.
But some priests in Blantyre Archdiocese have faulted the authorities and the organising committee for choosing Sunday for the farewell mass.
“Priests will be unable to attend that mass as we shall be busy at our respective parishes,” one priest said.
No replacement has been announced yet for Blantyre a situation that most priests are questioning because it has created a vacuum.
