Are you truly saved?

When you accepted Jesus Christ as a personal Savior, It is God’s will that you should live a victorious life. Many alter calls have been made in churches but only one or two people respond because many believe they are saved when they are not. It has been like this because many have misunderstood the whole concept of salvation.

“These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but manmade, and their fear toward Me is taught by the percept of men.” (Isaiah 29:13).

This is being caused by wrong teachings which say all you need is to pray the sinner’s prayer because we are under grace and continue doing what you do with your life. “So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth” (Revelation3:16). This is not referring to people outside of church, but those in church who think they are saved.

Look at Mathew 13:47-50 where Jesus gave the parable of the net and referred to Believers who come into church and said at the end they will gather the good into vessels and cast the bad away.

I wish all could just know that Salvation is what allows God to start hearing our prayers and the Spirit of God start drawing us closer to Him. From the moment we say yes to Jesus Christ, there is a strong desire to get close to God which can lead us into seeking and knowing Him better through the scriptures. It is this desire that is ignored most of the times that we opt to go with the things of the world.

The Story of the Israelites when they were getting out of the Egyptian captivity is not just a story to hear how God can fight for God’s children. There are many good lessons about what happens when the prince of the world sees that one has chosen to walk with Jesus. Exodus 14:8 tells us that God hardened the heart of Pharaoh and he pursued after the children of Israel.

This is the same thing that happens that the enemy will also go after you because you belonged to the kingdom of darkness and you want to get out to the light.

The enemy will never want God’s children to be completely saved and be in God’s kingdom. Every step we make towards getting closer to God makes the enemy increase pressure to have us give up and think it was better before accepting Jesus.

The same chapter verse 11 says that the children of Israel were getting mad with Moses and told him they were better serving the Egyptians than dying in the wilderness. This is exactly what happens that most of the Christians still chose to stay in slavery than to pursuing the things of God despite because of the pressure the enemy puts on them.

The word of God has everything that we need as children of God. The bible is what helps you grow spiritually and will make you strong that the enemy will not be able to convince you. Read it with understanding and God will start opening your eyes and you will see that your understanding will not be the same.

Going back to Exodus 14, we see Moses assuring the Children of Israel to fear not, but stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. This is a great lesson that we know for sure that there is nothing to fear with God on our side, rebuke everything that is stopping you from getting closer to our Lord Jesus Christ and stand still, looking to the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
