Malawi army has forwarded to President Bingu wa Muthartika names of four shortlisted candidates for appointment as his military Aide-de-Camp (ADC).
This follows after Mutharika withdrew ADC Colonel Desmond Chawanda.
According to Nyasa Timesmilitary sources, the shortlisted candidates include Major Blaise Saenda, Major Munlo, Captain Maluwa and Captain M’manga.
“The memo has been written by Army commander to the State House,” said the military officer familiar with the development.
The source informed Saenda and M’manga come from Balaka district Munlo from Thyolo and Maluwa is from Dedza.
The development comes at a time when President Mutharika also replaced head of National Intelligence Services, Clement Kapalamula, with politician Bintony Kutsaira.
Colonel Chawanda became Mutharika’s ADC after replacing Major Chikunkha Soko.
Soko had taken over from Major John Chaika who replaced the President’s inaugural ADC Lieutenant Colonel Austin Kapindula.
