Asu can be released: Wanderers coach fed up with Cameronian striker
Mighty Be Forward coach Elia Kananji has asked the club executive committee to send back Cameroonian player Lionel Asu or else release him so that he can join any team of his choice.
This follows Asu’s training boycott which has lasted about two weeks now.
According to Nyasa Times sources, the player is demanding his wages that includes a signing on fee which the Nomads were supposed to finish paying by 31st May, 2015 according to the player’s agent Prince Jere.
“Our supporters love the way the player has been performing and they always want to see him playing but since he has been boycotting training demanding his arrears, the executive just need to let him go,” Kananji told journalist after the match against resilient Mzuni which Nomads won 2-1.
According to Kananji, such behaviour shown by Asu is showing might bring confusion in the team as some players might as well start boycotting training or games demanding their arrears.
“He (Asu) need to change otherwise, we can’t tolerate that,” said Kananji.
Asu became a darling to Wanderers supporters after an impressive during the pre-season training and opening matches of the 2015 TNM Super League which he also scored a couple of vital goals.
