Mighty Be Forward Wanderers started their Central Region tour on a good note after beating league leaders Mafco F.C 2-1 at the dreaded Chitowe Stadium of Saturday 16th May, 2015.
Cameroonian export Lionel Asu was the hero of the day with a goal in each half to help Nomads bag in maximum three points.
Asu opened the score sheet 10 minutes into the match being set by Muhammad Sulumba. Mafco showed resistance but could find the back of the net.
Midfielder Patrick Masanjala squandered several scoring opportunities.
First half ended 1-0 in favour of the visitors.
In the second half, Nomads continued from where they had left and their hard work paid dividends in the 62nd minute when Asu scored the second goal.
Mafco continued to fight until at the dot of full time when they finally broke the deadlock to score the consolation goal courtesy of Paul Phiri’s strike.
In a post-match interview with reporters, Be Forward Wanderers coach Elia Kananji described the encounter as tough but hailed his charges for the gallant performance.
His counter part Stereo Gondwe conceded the defeat by saying “its part of the game”.
This is Mafco’s second defeat since the start of the season but they remain on top of the log table.
They have so far played six games winning four times and losing twice.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
