Atupele at Bullets, Nomads epic clash: Malawi presidential hopeful
Malawi’s youthful presidential hopeful Atupele Muluzi appeared at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday where he joined thousands of football fans
to watch the explosive Blantyre derby of Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets in the TNM Super League
The United Democratic Front (UDF) President spoiled the scorers – Gabadini Mhango and Innocent Dzimibili- with some cash.
A few minutes after the kick-off of the match, Muluzi arrived at the stadium.
He promised to give each scorer a sum of K100, 000.
Muluzi witnessed the epic encounter from the VIP stand.
Gabadinho scored in the 40th minute for Bullets while Dzimbiri’s 83rd minute strike earned Mighty Wanderers a 1-1 draw.
Muluzi is a football fanantic himself and his father, Bakili Muluzi who ruled Malawi from 1994 to 2004, bankrolled Bullets and was also the official sponsor of the flagship Super League.
Formerly known as Bakili Bullets when sponsored by Muluzi, the club changed its name to Big Bullets.
