Bankers frustrated in their league campaign: Malawi TNM Super league

Silver Strikers dreams to pile up pressure to Big Bullets in the elite TNM Super League came to a hault over the weekend as they manage to collect only a point in the Southern Region tour.

The bankers, were clipped 2-0 by undisputed title winners Big Bullets on Saturday before being frustrated 24 hours later in a 2-2 draw to Fisd Wizards in Nchalo.

Silver, who are third on the log table behind Mafco FC are trailing 11 points to Bullets.

However, Silver Strikers general secretary Fred Kalonga has refused to throw in a white towel, stating they will fight on until the last game.

“We had a bumpy weekend in the south but let me assure you that we will not surrender until our last game. Anything can happen in a game of football and giving up is not in our dictionary as bankers,” said Kalonga.

Meanwhile, Big Bullets have said they are targetting 60 points to be assured of the title defence.

The Peoples team coach Mabvuto Lungu said it is too early to crown themselves champions before the end of the season.

“Our main target is to amass 60  points then we can eat drink sleep comfortably,” said Lungu.
