Bashir to defend ABU belt in Tanzania
Malawian female professional boxer, Anisha Bashir, will defend her African Boxing Union (ABU) belt in Tanzania next month (April).

Bashir will face DR Congo’s Theresa Naomi Yemba in a ring in Tanzania and the Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board has given her a go ahead.
She has started preparing for the bout.
President of the Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board, Lonzo, said the board has cleared her expects her to do well in the fight.
“We have already cleared her to start preparing for the fight. If she wins the fight, she will protect the belt and rise on the WBC ranking at the same time.
“We know she is a good boxer and we expect her to do well. We also ask well-wishers to come forward with any assistance can help her prepare thoroughly for fight,” Zimba told the local media.
Bashir, who is a soldier with the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), scooped the ABU belt in 2017. She also won the Commonwealth belt in 2016.
