Bingu Tigresses, MTL Queens in crunch tie

MTL Queens face serious test in their quest to challenge the OG Issa Southern Region Netball League when they line up against Bingu Tigresses at the netball cathedral Blantyre Youth Centre on Saturday.

MTL Queens have to win if their ambition to grab the league in the hands of Escom Sisters is to have realistic chance. They lie on third position with 30 points.

Coach  Edith Kaliati feels she has the formula to beat Tigresses fter  going down to another netball giant Escom Sisters some weeks ago.

“We have to beat Tigresses if our ambition to be crowned champions is to be alive. But l can assure you that we will throw everything into the game,” she said.

Off late, the Queens mentor has blended vast experienced and youngsters in her pursuit to rediscover their winning form.

Vast experienced attacker Mary ‘Atcheya’ Waya will likely partner Chikumbutso Banda in attack while no nonsense goalkeeper Joanna Kachilika will make sure that Sindi ‘Sniper’ Simutowe has no room to maneuver.

Other players to watch for MTL Queens are Thandi and Rianna Mtenje, who are becoming a threat to many teams facing the Queens.

However, Bingu Tigresses mentor Peace Chawinga Kalua is aware that any slip up in the hands of  the Queens, rivals  Escom Sisters will be crowned as champions.

The electricians are leading the log table with 45 points while Tigresses is chasing them closely with 39 points.

Kalua has also blended a youthful side and she is likely to feature Sindi ‘Sniper’ Simutowe in front to torment the telephone wires ladies.

Beatrice Kadango will also be available for selection  for Tigresses.

Tigresses last game will be against their arc rivals Escom Sisters.
