Top heavyweights in Malawi music industry have been lined up to headline live music performances at the inaugural event of Blantyre City Fun Fare.
The roster of Fredokiss, Dan Lu, Barry one, Nepman, Dr Ethel Kamwendo Banda will give out performances when the fair takes place on April 29 to 30 at Limbe Country Club.
Management for Blantyre Events has confirmed the roster of artists and signaled that preparations are at an advanced stage.
“We have engaged Blantyre bred artists for the fair as it aims to showcase what Blantyre City has to offer” said Mphatso Chaluluka, Marketing Director for Blantyre Events Management Company.
“Dr. Ethel Kamwendo and other artists will take stage on Sunday while the other front liners are all performing on Saturday”, Chaluluka pointed out adding that the event offers businesses an opportunity to reach a cross-section of Blantyre residents in one setting.
Fredokiss is an acclaimed Ghetto spokesperson with a huge fan base for his outright, outspoken criticism and refreshing take on issues that affect the society including the ordinary citizen. His on stage antics have also elevated him to one of the most sought after artist with popular hit songs including Zautsiru.
Dan Lu, famous for his ‘Sweet banana’ international hit with Nigerian KCEE is set to perform as he awaits to release his new single 1+1 which features another Nigerian, Flavour later this year. The sweet banana artist was recently in South Africa where he did a show and talked to Nigerian superstar Davido. No word on what they discussed is out but he could only tell us that something is bound to happen
Barry One launched his Maso Atseguka album and has been enjoying massive airplays both on radio and television station making him a favorite to perform on Saturday.
Probably the only artist with most collaborations of 2016, Nepman and his slew of hit songs is a headliner for Saturday. He is known for his husky voice, catchy hooks and stage antics. Being signed to Zembani Band, Nepman has cultivated a long experience in stage performances.
Ethel Kamwendo Banda is one of the longest active musicians who can put up to 3 hours of live performance nonstop without the crowd getting bored and booing.
