Nanu you young writers kumafunsa bwinobwino! This will not be Blantyre’s “first ever” city fun fair. We used to have them in the eighties and early nineties at Upper Kamuzu Stadium.

They stopped with the advent of multiparty when people turned them into showcase of their backwardness. The fairs suddenly became drinking festivals where fights were the order of the day, vehicles broken into and women were harrassed and raped!
