Blantyre Joint Choir, an interdenominational choral group based in Blantyre, Malawi’s commercial capital, will host Celebration dinner and Anniversary rally as part of the group’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations.
The events- celebrations dinner and Anniversary rally–whose preparations are said to be at an advanced stage will take place on Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16, respectively.
The celebrations dinner will take place at the Blantyre Sports Club where patrons will have pay K12,000 to be part of the celebratory dinner.
While the Anniversary rally will be staged at the Blantyre Baptist Church, along the Masauko Chipembere High Way.
The choral group was formed in 1977 and its main aim is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ through music.
The group also promote Christian worship using cultural musical arrangements and dance forms. Currently, the group’s membership is around 70.
“The Blantyre Joint Choir is so thankful to God for sustaining us in the music industry for the past 40 years.
“We have organized these events to celebrate the group’s 40 years of existence and we invite all people to celebrate with us. Both events will feature choral music from the 1970s through to the present,” one of the organisers, George Mzumara, said.
There will be various activities and guest artists including Michiru CCAP Youth Choir.
