Blantyre Sports Club nets K3.6m in fundraising golf

Blantyre Sports Club raised K5 million from fundraising golf tournament held on Wednesday at the club.

Blantyre Sports Club golf section captain Hudson Kantwanje said they managed to raise K3.6 million after deducting the costs of the tournament.

Kantwanje said the money would got towards buying golf equipment and gang mower valued a K6 million.

He said two more fundraising activities would be held in May and September this year.

“The total cost of the equipment is K6 million so we are planning to hold two fundraising activities and it might not be a golf tournament to raise money for the cause,” Kantwanje said.

Played on four-better-ball format Eric chapola and John Gift mwakhwawa sponsored by Nico posted (22points) to win while HABP Lubes team of Sopie Kaira and Dr. Yasin Njalale (20 points), were runners-up.

Royal Motors team of Hudson Kantwanje  and Dr. Anaree Guarino were counted in to emerge on third place.

The tournament attracted 38 teams of two players each who K50,000 each team.
