Blantyre United FC score on charity, donate to Ndirande clinic

Blantyre United FC celebrated their third slot K2.5 million prize money in the 2012-2013 TNM Super League soccer season by donating various items worth K100, 000 to Ndirande Health centre which is based in the populous Ndirande Township in the commercial city of Malawi.

The clubs manager Lawson Nakoma, said it pleased them to share the little they received for scooping third position with the less privileged especially in one of the health centre’s in Blantyre.

Nakoma said they realized that Blantyre United has been successful because of putting God first since they joined the top flight league despite failing to grab the title at the eleventh hour.

Mphembedzu donated items like ten trays of eggs, packets of sugar and soap to the women wards at the heath centre.

He however emphasasized that as a club they will continue sharing with the needy like orphans in future because they realized that there many people in the country who require such gestures.

One of the beneficiaries, Alice Chawali from Makata area in the same township saluted  the club for their timely gesture.

Alice who has just delivered a baby girl said: “We have no kind words for Blantyre United. God should bless the club nd the entire technical panel for considering us with these items.”

Mid Wife nurse, Gladys Chithyoka hailed the club for choosing the health centre: “They could have gone to Zingwangwa or Limbe health centre’s but for them to consider us l want to thank.”

She said they have many expectant women at the health centre who require proteins like eggs .

Immediately after donating the items, Blantyre United drove straight to their base at Escom Ground where they conducted a party after players were also recognized with medals.

Each and every player was given a medal which they received for scooping third position.
