Blantyre Zero set Pres Cup finals clash with Ntopwa Super Queens

Blantyre Zero landed into the finals of the Presidential Women’s football cup on Sunday, after walloping Atu Sisters 8-0 in a one sided encounter played at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre.

The commercial city giants, in women’s football, dominated the game   especially through their skipper Maggie Chombo Malinga, who was an inspirational to her friends.

Veteran Chombo was a marvel to watch and provided several assist to the likes of Monica Chapweteka, who netted four goals.

Sungeni Msiska registered her two goals before Maggie and Sheila Dimba wrapped their goals in style following a defensive howler.

Now Blantyre Zero will face Ntopwa Super Queens in the finals.

Blantyre Zero’s coach Abel Mkandawire said they remain on course for a cup double.

“We will work hard in the finals to scoop our second cup for this season,” said Mkandawire.

In May, Blantyre Zero were crowned 2012-2013 Champions in the Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika Southern Region Women’s Football League.
