Blue Eagles takes FAMA to task over cup prize money

Blue Eagles Football Club has taken to task Fellowship Association of Malawi (FAMA) following the delay to release the prize money for the winners of the 2012-13 FAMA top eight bonanza.

General Secretary for Blue Eagles FC, Ackis Muwanga, said they have written the religious body, Super League of Malawi and Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on the matter.

“It is true that we have written them (FAMA) and other bodies who run soccer in the country expressing our concerns. We are disappointed with the delay and I want to tell FAMA that when joining cups we join with a purpose and we sometimes lose a lot of money to prepare while at the end we get little,” said Muwanga.

Eagles want their mone

However, Muwanga was non-committal on whether his club will take part in the next tournament organized by FAMA or not.

FAMA Organizing Secretary Japhet Majekete was not available for comment.

Blue Eagles is yet to receive a cash prize of K3 million while the runners Bullets FC are expected to pocket K1 Million.
