Botomani sole name in Malawi Super League election: Challenger Ntanthiko withdraws

Incumbent Innocent Botomani will be unchallenged in the upcoming Super League of Malawi (Sulom) presidential elections set for March 14 in Salima.

Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) treasurer and former Silver Strikers vice-chairperson Daudi Ntanthiko who was challenging Botomani for the flagship league hot seat has pulled out of the race .

Nyasa Times understand that no team came in to sign his nomination as they are behind Botomani, forcing him to pull out.

However, Ntanthiko claimed he had decided to withdraw his candidature following
advice from Southern Region Football Association chairman Ralphael Humba and the entire executive .

“They have advised me to concentrate on the work at Southern Region football association where I am treasurer,” he said.

Treasurer Tiya Somba-Banda has also expressed interest to seek re-election so too general secretary Williams Banda.

Meanwhile, nominations submission closes Saturday 28th February,2015.
