Boy, 9, marries 62-year-old mother of five

Nine-year-old Saneie Masilela of South Africa has become the world’s youngest groom for the second time after remarrying the 62-year-old woman he tied the knot with last year, according to reports.

Dressed in a silvery tuxedo, baby-faced Saneie clutched the hand of mother-of-five Helen Shabangu – her children are aged between 28- and 38-years-old – as they repeated their vows a year on in front of 100 guests in South Africa.

Saneie plans to marry someone his own age one day, but says he loves mother-of-five Helen Shabangu and wanted to go through the ritual to appease his family’s ancestors, the UK Mirror newspaper reports.

A video uploaded to YouTube by UK based Barcroft Media shows the bride and groom sharing a kiss after the ceremony, while Shabangu’s 67-year-old husband Alfred looks on.

It was the second wedding for the woman and the schoolboy, this time in her village of Ximhungwe, making official the rite performed last year in his village.

The couple does not live together.

The Mirror quotes Masilela’s mother, Patience, as saying: “After the wedding, everything went back to normal — nothing changed.”

Recycling worker  Helen –said: “One day Sanele would grow normally and have family of his own and get married one day, all this ceremony is for making ancestors happy. We are playing.”
