Bullets can sniff title: Malawi TNM Super League

Big Bullets feel they are within touching distance of the TNM Super League title defence after overwhelming Moyale Barracks 3-1 on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium to close to few games of the championship.

A quick-fire Chiukepo Msowoya  opened the score sheet for the defending champions in the first half to signal a serious approach to the game.

Fresh from their 1~0 defeat last week to Airborne Rangers, Bullets  knew only a win would do with Silver Strikers and Mafco  breathing down their necks in the title race but they endured a lacklustre first half which saw them struggle to create many chances.

After a goalless  15 minutes  in which  Bullets struggled to create many chances,  Chiukepo Msowoya  broke the deadlock shortly before the hour mark, combining well with  Jaffalie Chande and  Mussa Manyenje  before coolly slotting the ball past Juma Chikwenga in the Moyale goal.

Mussa Manyenje increased the tally a few minutes  later when he buried a right-footed drive  in the bottom right-hand corner.

In this half, Moyale defence was shaken and their defenders made silly blunders that could have led to them conceding many goals.

Moyale weren’t daunted however and soon reduced the arrears  through  super substitute first touch Deus Nkutu.

On recess time it was 2-1 before Ikiza Imebo added a slightly flattering late gloss to the scoreline after a sugar cake pass from Chiukepo Msowoya.

Bullets’ victory means that are close to be champions back-to-back if they avoid defeat next fixture.

Their coach Mabvuto Lungu has demanded “focus and complete concentration” from his players in the remaining games.

“We are almost there but we need to complete the job to start the celebrations. Not yet now,” he said.

In other games, Fisd Wizards registered their first victory in Nchalo with a 2~0 victory against Airborne Rangers.
