Bullets coach in cautious mood ahead of Dwangwa clash: FISD Challenge Cup
As the knock-out battle gets hotter in the FISD Challenge Cup Super League preliminary round, Blantyre giants, Nyasa Big Bullets will be facing Dwangwa United on Wednesday at Chitowe Stadium.
In a pre-match interview Nyasa Big Bullets Assistant Coach, Elijah Kananji said they were not underrating Dwangwa United.
“It will be a tough game and we are not underrating Dwangwa United. We have prepared well for the game,” said Kananji.
Kananji added, “We are geared to lift FISD Cup and we will start by crushing Dwangwa United.”
His counterpart from Dwangwa United, Ladwell Mbetewa said they were treating the game just like any other game.
Mbetewa said the word ‘big teams’ does not exist in Dwangwa United’s dictionary.
“There are no big or small teams in Malawi; we treat every team in Malawi equally so we are taking this game just like any other games.
“It is our hope to win the game against bullets and progress to the next round of FISD Cup,” said Mbetewa.
Foundation for Irrigation and Sustainable Development (FISD) sponsors the FISD Challenge Cup to the tune of MK50 Million.
FISD Cup is competed for by 57 teams comprising 16 teams from the TNM Super League, 12 teams from the Premier Division and 29 district teams who won the 2017 presidential Cup district championship.
Meanwhile, super league teams, Blantyre United, Zomba based soldiers Red Lions, Civo Sporting United and Wizards FC were already axed from the cup.
