Bullets fined for fans pitch invasion: Carlsberg Cup Malawi
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has slapped Big Bullets with a fine of K450, 000 for pitch invasion by their supporters and for refusing to use designated dressing room during their Carlsberg Cup Quarter final encounter against Mafco FC at Civo Stadium.
he match was played on 2nd August, 2015 at the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
A statement released by FAM signed by its Competitions Manager Gomezgani Zakazaka indicates that Bullets was found guilty on both counts.
According to the statement, what Bullets did was in breach of Article 24 (12) and 26 (5 and 8) of the Carlsberg Cup Rules and Regulations.
The Peoples team have been charged K200,000 for refusing to use the dressing room and K250,000 for pitch invasion.
“Please be reminded that your club is responsible for the actions of your supporters and players and that your requested to take all the necessary precautions to prevent them from displaying such unsporting behavior,” Zakazaka said in the statement
Bullets are expected to face Silver Strikers this weekend in the Semifinal of the 2015 Carlsberg Cup edition at the Kamuzu Stadium.
The other Semifinal clash is between Mighty Be Forward Wanderers and Moyale Barracks at the Civo Stadium.
