Bullets target K25m from Fomboni game

Bullets have set K25 million as a target to raise from the second leg match of the CAF Preliminary round against Fomboni FC of Comoros Island during the second leg scheduled for February 28 in Blantyre.

Bullets’ Head of marketing Daniel Mbebuwa said the gate charges had been raised to K1,000 for Open Stands with K3,000 for MBC Stand, K5,000 for Covered Stand and K10,000 for VIP Stand.

Mbepuwa urged fans to come in large numbers to support and also raise money for the team which has no financial muscle in the CAF Champions League.

“We are hoping to raise K25 million from the gate collections because security will be tight,” Mbepuwa said.

“We will not allow anyone to enter for free because as everyone knows we need for us to participate in the competition.”

Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi FAM has offered to support Bullets in their quest to raise enough money from the gate collections.

This would be probably the highest collection should Bullets manage to beat their target at Kamuzu Stadium as even the national team has failed to raise such a figure.

Bullets beat Fomboni 1-0 in the first leg and stand a better chance of progressing with home ground advantage at their mercy.

The Malawi champions are likely to face Sudanese side Al Hilal should they win after the  team beat a Zanzibari side 2-0 in the first leg.
