Bushiri plays golf for charity: Beacon of Hope raises funds for the needy
South Africa-based Malawian, Major Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church International (ECG) played golf with business magnets, wealthy people and prominent personalities in South Africa on Tuesday in aid for charity.
The Prophet Shephered Bushiri (PSB) Fundraising Golf Tournament event recorded attendees totaling 64 with some having travelled all the way from the United States.
It was in aid of the Beacon of Hope charity foundation.
After the tee off, Bushiri told reporters that he was grateful to all who came to play and making the PSB first ever golf event a big success.
“It was great to be joined by fellow sons and daughters, some who travelled as far as America just to come and support this vision. Let charity be our aim as we approach the Christmas season,” said Bushiri who continues to walk on the highway of pre-eminence.
The inauguration came to an inordinate end when Bushiri sent off two winners with three vehicles, one resembling the exact luxurious top-of-the-range Lexus that is currently being used as an official car for Malawian President Peter Mutharika. The 2016 Lexus LX570 costs around $100 000 a unit.
Bushiri, who has time and again spent his finances towards philanthropy has spent almost $1 million dollars on charity alone catering for over a thousand students in the tertiary sector.
The billionairer pastor has also set out plans to boost the gospel music industry in Malawi through his gospel rap competition.
The intention of this is so that the Christians youth can be given a platform to spread out the gospel as well as showcase their talents. The winner will walk away with K3 million.
“The prophet is a man with a heart for people. He is always working tirelessly to make sure that the hundreds of beneficiaries we have adopted are well taken care of. This is one of the ways that we fundraise for the needy,” said a spokesman for the the Prophet.
Bushiri has so far left an inerasable legacy of trendsetting as well as being recorded as one of the richest Pastors in Malawi and being on the frontline of all the pastors in Africa. statics showcase a net worth of USD150 million.
